Your needs are your choice.

Because they are a choice, this means you are not bound by them.

You can choose to change your needs.

With no needs—Nirvana is known.

Quote from Plato’s “The Republic” Socrates and Sephalus discuss the negatives and positives of old age.

-The Elder Sephalus- “For those who are civilised and contented, then even old age is only a slight burden. Otherwise–for those who are not like this- both old age and youth prove hard to cope with”

Chaos- Making A New Science
By James Gleick

In this book, the author, an editor and reporter for the New York Times, attempts to explain the Chaos Theory that Ian Malcom talked about in Jurassic Park the popular film. The New Science of Chaos is a relatively new but exciting branch of science that is embraced by physicists, biologists, astronomers, and econonomists who are trying to make sense of the complex systems found in nature. Some examples are the weather patterns, the complex rythms of heart beats, and just general mathematical anomolies that can be explained with this emerging theory. Everything from the way a flame flickers, to the way our galaxy was created can be connected to the Chaos theory, and this book is a surprisingly easy read into this mind boggling and throught provoking book. To quote Douglas Hofstadter ” It turns out that an eerie type of chaos can lurk just behind a facade of order-and yet, deep inside the chaos lurks an even eerier type of order….Gleick’s Chaos is not only enthralling and precise, but full of beautifully strange and strangely beautiful ideas.” Also to quote the recent 311 album, “From Chaos come Clarity” Great book, i liked it.
