In my opinion if the media did not cover all of the aftermath and destruction as much as they do, the terrorists would lose much of their power. When an event happens like the bombings in London, we need to acknowledge it, and move on. The lingering coverage and showing of the carnage only adds to the fear and terror, and what do terrorists use for leverage? They play to our fear and the media helps them by broadcasting their small acts of cowardice to a worldwide audience, making the events hit home, far from where they happen. Please media, dont acknowledge terrorists, just acknowledge the cowardly bombers who can’t show their face to the world.

Which direction are politics in America going towards, not to mention politics worldwide. There can be extremists in our own country, and in our own parties, Democratic, Republican, or any other party in America. There is definately extremists among religions worldwide other than the extremist Muslims. There are extremist Israeli’s and there are extremist Hindu’s. Let’s look at what an extremist is. The word extreme according to Webster means, ” ex-treme adj. (1.) farthest away; utmost (2.) very great; excessive (3.) unconventional or radical, as in politics (4.) harsh; drastic —noun. (1.)either of two things that are as different or far as possible from each other. (2.) an extreme act, state. etc. (3.) math-the first of last term of a proportion. Does the world need extreme’s in politics, or in everyday life? Do extreme things help anyone other than those involved with the extremism? Do the terrorists in Iraq gain support from the largest religion in the world, and the greater Islamic world by kidnapping Muslim leaders? EGYTPTIAN LEADER KIDNAPPED IN IRAQ It is in the intrest of the whole world to see Moderation defeat Extremeism in all aspects of our lives, except entertainment.

Seattle Mariners : Game Wrapup
Kansas City Royals-8
Seattle Mariners-6
L-Gil Meche(8-6)

Although this game tonight that the Mariners lost to the Royals had many positive signs for the team, like Adrian Beltre hitting like he can, and the rest of the offense begging to click, the same problem is there. Starting pitching is not doing it’s job. The Mariners 5 starters now, all have ERA’s over 4 and they are constantly putting pressure on the offense to come from behind. The Mariners need someone on the staff to emerge as a solid starter, because at this stage they have 5 number 4 starters pitching, with Ryan Franklin being the leader of the staff. The bullpen is doing it’s job for the most part and the offense is showing signs of turing around, but for now, Mariners fans can only look forward to seeing Felix the King come and maybe be an anchor for the staff.

PS- A little ham and eggs coming at you hope you brought your griddles…..

African Nations Demand Two U.N. Seats – Yahoo! News
In the best interest of the global economy, it is my opinion that Egypt and South Africa should be made permanent members of the U.N. Security Council and Africas poor countries should be forgiven their debt and encouraged to continue improving their governments, and their economies. A global economy would greatly benefit from the vast untapped resources in Africa. The continent is vastly underdeveloped compared to the rest of the world, and a vibrant African economy would take pressure off the rest of the world, not to mention the immediate benefit of the poor African people who need education and jobs, which can be provided by economic development, and debt relief. Starvation is a killer, and a modernized African economy could feed it’s own poor, as well as poor people around the globe.

From “Nirvana in a Nutshell” by Scott Shaw

No matter how seemingly holy your occupation, Nirvana cannot be captured.

Just because it is written in some scripture that a monk is somehow holier than the average person, does that mean that it is true?

Just because there is an individual on a pulpit, who you believe to be an enlightened teacher, does that mean that they are?

Who does more good for the world: the monk who sits in meditation all day and all night
or the farmer who grows apples to feed you?

Without food, there is no life.
Without life, the contemplation of Nirana becomes meaningless.

Who wrote the scriptures?
Monks.

Who fed them?
Farmers.

The Union Bulletin of Walla Walla writes the Max Reinland and Chris McConn won the overall title of the Budweiser Best-Ball/Scramble at Veterans Memorial Golf Course in Walla Walla with a final score of 125 over 36 holes. These young golfers battled adversity and the heat over the weekend to win over a much older and more experienced field. Good luck to the golf ballers Max Reinland and Chris McConn.

ESPN.com – Gammons: National treasure
Jeremy Reed is a star, he needs to start getting accolades and this is a start. Peter Gammons the Enlightened one of Baseball writes that out of 50 managers, execs, scouts, polled, Jeremy Reed was the 4th most impressive player in his first full season behing only Grady Sizemore, CF Indians, Clint Barmes, the surprising early season star for the Rockies, and David Wright, the Mets rising talent. Reed is also on the top 5 Defensive Players list behind some studs like Torii Hunter, Mark Kotsay, and Andrew Jones. And the 5th spot happens to go to Ichiro, so Reed is a better fielder according to this polling, which I agree with. In other Mariners news from the mind of Gammons, Felix Hernandez graces the list of the top minor league players who will be in the 2007 All-Star Game along with Dimitri Young’s brother Delmon from Tampa Bay, Conor Jackson from Arizona, Prince Fielder, Ceci’s ridiculous son who is actually in the majors, and Dustin Pedroia of the um, um, oh i forget their name, but they won the World Series last year, it’s way over in Massachoosets, and Justin Verlander of Detroit. These are two examples of the youth paying off soon and Gammons article is a must read. Read that one, its better than mine. Go Reed, “Yoda, you must seek yoda!”, from Jedi Master Snelling.

ESPN’s the Rick should be recognized for his sheer brilliance and comedic genius. His commercials live up to a higher standard than most, and he needs an award, or at least an award named after him like “The Rick Award”, awarded to the funniest commercial during the year, because he has my vote most years. The Rick is King. My goal is to be The Rick, but I’ll use my own name probably.
